Series 41

TEMPTROL Valves

A very energy-efficient steam trap for winterization or instrumentation tracing. A wax-filled thermostat holds the discharge at a set temperature regardless of inlet pressure.

Applications

Winterization or instrumentation tracing with condensate discharge to atmosphere or open drain systems. TEMPTROL Valves with a 240 °F (116 °C) discharge temperature can also be applied to systems with closed return.

Operating principle

A wax-filled thermostat senses the trap inlet temperature and maintains it at around the discharge temperature regardless of inlet pressure.

Design features

  • 100% thermal efficiency
  • Long service life
  • Subcooled condensate discharge
  • Fail-open
  • Self-draining and freeze-proof
  • Insensitive to pressure variation
  • Noiseless operation
  • Compact and light weight; easy installation
  • All stainless steel trap

Discharge temperature

Discharge temperature can be either 180 °F (82 °C) or 240 °F (116 °C). Other discharge temperatures are available on request.
