Applications

Tracing or drip applications with condensate discharge to atmosphere or to condensate return systems.

Operating principle

A series of bimetal discs senses the trap inlet temperature and pressure and controls the discharge temperature of condensate at around 50 °F (28 °C) below the saturation temperature of the inlet steam.

Design features

  • Excellent thermal efficiency
  • Excellent dirt handling capability
  • Fail-open
  • Resistance to corrosion and hydraulic shocks
  • Self-draining and freeze-proof
  • Venting of air and non-condensable gases
  • Superheating capability
  • Compact and light weight; easy installation
  • All stainless steel trap
  • Built-in check valve

Capacities and seat orifices

Capacity chart: hot and cold discharge versus inlet pressure
Hot discharge measured within 10 °F (6 °C) below trap opening temperature. Cold discharge measured at 70 °F (21 °C).
